One is on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis, Tennessee. The other is on the edge of Randers, in eastern Jutland, and its exterior is nearly a direct copy of the first - the same portico, the same pale stone-clad front, the same faintly Southern-plantation confidence. There is one obvious difference, and it is not subtle once you know to look for it. The Danish building is roughly twice the size of the house it imitates. Nobody commissioned it as a tourist board project or a theme park attraction. It was built by one man who ran the Elvis fan club.
